Who we are

Wedsy is operated by Dorset Pottery Limited, trading as Wedsy, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 13237991), ICO registration number ZB373385. These terms are an agreement between you and that company.

Service use

You may use Wedsy to plan events and manage related content. You are responsible for the data you upload and for obtaining any necessary permissions from guests and collaborators.

Accounts and security

Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and invited team members.

Acceptable use

You must not use Wedsy for unlawful, abusive, harmful, or infringing activity. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

These rules also apply to wedding guests who share photos, guestbook notes, voice messages or song requests, even without a Wedsy account. You must not share anything illegal, including:

• sexual images of children, or content that grooms or exploits children;
• terrorist content;
• threats, harassment, stalking or content that encourages violence;
• intimate images of someone shared without their consent;
• hate content that stirs up racial or religious hatred;
• content that encourages suicide or serious self-harm;
• fraud, scams, or the sale of illegal drugs, weapons or other illegal items.

Because children often attend weddings, you also must not share anything harmful to children, even where it is legal, including:

• pornography or other sexually explicit content;
• content that encourages, promotes or gives instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
• bullying, or abusive or hateful content;
• graphic violence, or content that encourages dangerous stunts or challenges;
• content that encourages taking harmful substances.

We, or the couple, may remove anything that breaks these rules.

How we keep guest content safe

Automated photo checks.Every photo a guest shares (on a wedding website, in the guest app, in the guestbook or by email) is checked before it appears, using Amazon Rekognition. It is a machine-learning image classifier: it looks at the picture and reports how likely it is to contain categories of unsafe content, such as nudity, graphic violence or hate symbols. If it is at least 90% confident, or the check can't be completed, the photo is held back until the couple reviews it. It does not identify anyone, recognise faces or compare faces. It doesn't check text, audio or video, so video messages are held until the couple approves them. The Privacy Policy explains what data this involves.

Couples' controls. Couples decide what appears on their wedding pages. They can hide or delete anything guests post and block people from posting. Content reported by several guests is hidden automatically until the couple reviews it.

Our team. When anyone reports content as illegal, harmful to children, or an intimate image shared without consent, we hide it straight away and a member of the Wedsy team reviews it. We remove illegal content as soon as we become aware of it, and may suspend or close the accounts of people who share it. Where the law requires it, or someone may be at risk, we may pass information to the police or other authorities.

Specific kinds of illegal content

• Terrorism content.Wedsy has no search, feeds or ways to find other people's content, which limits how it could spread. Photos showing hate symbols or graphic violence are held automatically. We remove terrorism content as soon as we become aware of it and remove any account run by or for a proscribed organisation.
• Child sexual exploitation and abuse.Guests can't message each other, so there is no way to contact a child through Wedsy. Sexually explicit photos are held automatically before anyone sees them. Reported material is hidden at once, reported to the Internet Watch Foundation or the police, and removed permanently.
• Intimate images shared without consent. If you are pictured in an intimate image, or act for someone who is, you can report it using the flag button or our Online Safety page. We hide it straight away, along with any copies of it we find on that wedding, and remove it permanently within 48 hours unless it isn't an intimate image or the report wasn't made by or for the person pictured.
• Other illegal content (including hate, threats and harassment, fraud, and encouraging suicide or serious self-harm). Explicit and graphic photos are held automatically, everything guests post can be reported, and we remove illegal content as soon as we become aware of it.

Protecting children

Children often attend weddings and may see wedding pages. Wedsy does not check ages. Instead, content harmful to children is not allowed anywhere on Wedsy, and:

• Pornography: sexually explicit photos are held automatically before they appear, and reported content is hidden at once and removed.
• Content encouraging suicide, self-harm or eating disorders: not allowed; graphic self-harm images are held automatically, and reported content is hidden at once and removed.
• Bullying, and abusive or hateful content: not allowed; photos with hate symbols are held automatically, couples can remove and block, and reported content is removed.
• Violent content, and dangerous stunts or challenges: not allowed; graphically violent photos are held automatically, and reported content is removed.
• Content encouraging taking harmful substances: not allowed; reported content is removed.

Anyone, including a child, can report content as harmful to children with the flag button, and it is hidden straight away while we review it.

Reporting, complaints and appeals

You can report a guest photo or guestbook note using the flag button next to it, and a song request in the Wedsy app. You can also report illegal content, complain, or appeal a decision on our Online Safety page, without needing an account. You can complain there if:

• you think illegal content is on Wedsy and hasn't been dealt with;
• you're unhappy with how we handled a report;
• we removed something you shared, or restricted your account, and you think we were wrong;
• you think our automated checks got something wrong; or
• you think we aren't meeting our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023.

A person reviews every complaint and appeal. If you give us an email address, we'll tell you what we decided and why. If we find we got it wrong, we'll lift the restriction and restore your content where we can. Content we remove as illegal is deleted permanently, so it can't be restored.

Free plan and paid extras

The couple plan is free. Optional AI, SMS, Memory Vault, managed domain and print purchases are priced in-product using a server-controlled catalogue. Shipping for print orders is itemised at checkout. Purchased consumable credits do not expire and are used after the free allowance. Refunds reverse their credits and may leave a negative wallet balance if credits were already used.

Memory Vault is tied to one wedding, does not replace the free privacy export, and ends when that wedding or account is deleted. It lasts three years from your wedding date and can be extended. We email a reminder before it ends. Nothing is deleted when it does: your existing files stay viewable and downloadable, and only the extra upload allowance stops. Managed-domain renewal requires consent; domains can be transferred out. Wedsy takes 0% of cash-registry gifts, although payment-processing fees still apply.

Termination

You can stop using Wedsy at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for significant terms violations or where required by law.
